Researcher Process Technology Chemistry China

For our international client we are searching for a candidate who wants to work for at least 5 years in China and have a background in Process Technology within the chemistry. The head office of our client is located in Holland and they have new plants at several places in China. For the RD&I facility near Shanghai we are looking for Researchers.

You are going to work for the Process Technology group. They focus on creating breakthrough processes and technologies, optimising existing processes and defining scale-up rules. With state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for small-scale production and excellent modelling tools for larger-scale developments, you will have all the materials you need to see if initial concepts can be transformed into practical solutions that will create new opportunities for our client. Working within an inter-disciplinary, business-led team, your principal role will be to deliver cost-effective solutions on time, on target and on budget.

We expect you to explore alternative and novel technologies, together with process concepts involving experimental programs. You will need to look beyond the horizon to identify and use the most appropriate technology to meet the challenge of the particular project you are involved in. Safety is key, so we will expect you to put this first and to carry out any safety assessments necessary. You will be under pressure to deliver, so you will need to work with pace as well as scientific rigor to interpret and analyse experimental data, model results, deduce insights and recommend further action. We are always keen to know the latest results, so you will need to explain, present and report these clearly, as well as defining new project proposals for the Business Units.

At first you will work in the Netherlands at the R & D facility. After an introduction period of a few months/ 1 year you will go to China to work there. They are looking for candidates who are capable to lead research project teams in the near future and be responsible for the delivery of projects and develop the overall capability of the research base in the area of Process Technology. The overall goal is to provide innovations to the Businesses within China and globally.

 

Profile
- WO/PhD/PDEng in Process Technology
- At least 3 years research experience in a university, research institution or industry
- A broad knowledge of Process Technology is preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English
- Proficient in computer applications
- Good interpersonal skills
- Project management and leadership skills
